About Falbay

Falbay is an unforgettable Cornish destination. Steeped in history, beauty, and a different pace of life, It remains an undiscovered playground by the ocean.
A haven for sailing, leisure, adventure, and good living, It is the perfect place to summer, live and start new traditions.

Referred to simply as Falbay, it is actually made up of a group of towns & villages, each with its own distinct flavour (and pubs). Falmouth is a bustling port which is strongly influenced by its maritime history. The Town offers plenty. Marinas, pubs historical buildings, shops and simply divine restaurants. Across the bay is Flushing, a small village interspersed with beautiful homes, pubs, eateries and a decent place to moor your boat. Not far from Flushing is St Mawes, an ancient fishing village from another time. During summer, it is the place to moor up in search for fresh seafood and a drink in the sun. Falmouth is famous for its harbour. Together with Carrick Roads, it forms the third largest natural harbour in the world. In about 1540 Henry VIII built Pendennis Castle to defend Carrick Roads, and Sir John Killigrew created the town of Falmouth in 1613. During the civil war, Pendennis Castle was the second to last fort to surrender to the Parliamentarians. In the late 16th century, under threat from the Spanish Armada, the defences at Pendennis were strengthened by the building of angled ramparts.

About Falbay.com
The summer is the high point of our year. We love good living, good food, drink and the sailing of course. Our winter homes are decorated to remind us of Falbay, some people have even been spotted sporting deck shoes down King's Road. There are activities to keep the family busy - shopping, eating lobster, swimming, sailing, planning parties, tanning, attending parties, shopping some more - in general, expending the most possible vigour in pursuit of relaxation.
So Falbay.com was established in 2007. Our online magazine's sole function is to celebrate, live and enjoy the best of everything Falbay and second home living (any where with an ocean) has to offer.
